Appco Group US celebrate the launch of its new Sports division following a highly successful test campaign throughout October

The Appco Group’s global Sports division is growing at an amazing pace, having launched in the UK less than a year ago, the company has now launched their fourth campaign in the US.

Senior Appco Group delegates from New Zealand and Australia, Regan Vick and Damian Bosher, headed Stateside to assist with the launch, which took place on November 12, 2012.

The pair took up residence in the US throughout October, completing a highly successful test campaign with Appco Group US’ new client, D.A.R.E America.

D.A.R.E. America is a well known American charity that works closely with the education system, visiting schools around the country giving children the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence.

Mr Vick and Mr Bosher were recently joined in the US by a further four representatives from New Zealand and Australia, who will assist in the launch and build of the Sports division.

The Appco Group are confident that this expansion across the US will be extremely successful and already have plans for further global expansion as they head into 2013.

Appco Group US to launch Sports Division in September 2012 after record-breaking year in the UK

The Appco Group will be opening its doors to a brand new office in Pasadena, California this September as it sees the launch of a new Sports Division.

Currently managing the Sports campaign over in Australia and New Zealand, Regan Vick and Damian Bosher will bring their experience over to the US to assist with the launch.

Appco US will be working alongside DARE America, a non-profit organziation providing vital drug and alcohol resistance education to the youth of America.

Chief Operating Officer in the US, Sara Cauchi, said “we are excited to be taking the next step in expanding the organization in California, and also looking forward to developing the sports division in the US”.

July 2012 marks two very exciting ventures for the Appco Group US team. Opening a third office in the city of Philadelphia and Country Head, Chris Rudge spearheading the launch of the home efficiency division across the US.

Over 80 million homes in the US are not energy efficient, costing the average American approximately $750 annually.

Appco joins hands with Save the Children to support US children in the launch of a new ‘Freedom from Poverty’ campaign

Save the Children are launching a face-to-face campaign called ‘Freedom from Poverty’ between May 14 and July 4 2012.

‘Freedom from Poverty’ is the essence of Save the Children’s vision for a nation in which no child’s future is limited by poverty. Sam Bendfeldt, Operations Manager US, states, ‘The aim of our campaign is to support Save the Children in their bid to find sponsors for 1,500 US children living in poverty. No child should be pre-determined by poverty or limited by it. It’s hard to imagine that poverty exists in the US but it does ‘.

Appco Group US hosts its first American cook out

June 7, 2012

On May 12, 2012 Appco Group US enjoyed the success of an all American cook out. Michael Scully, Vice President, said of the cook out ‘the day was a great opportunity to meet the family and friends of our team here in New York’.

Jamal Holley, Trainee Manager, said of the day ‘Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, it was great fun, good food and a chance to get to know fellow colleagues outside of the work environment, especially those in the White Plains office’.

Mr Holley continued, ‘It was also a good opportunity to listen to other peoples experiences on the field and different ways of doing things. It was great learning opportunity, as well as great fun’.

Country Head US, Willy Lyon, continued by saying ‘our first American cook out was also my first cook out! I really enjoyed the day and it was great to enjoy some good old-fashioned American traditions. We all had a great time, it was great to relax and enjoy some quality time outside of the workplace with everyone. Everyone works hard in our business and we’ve enjoyed some great results from it so its great to be able to reward all that hard work.’

Appco Group US staff fundraiser for American Cancer society

The heads of Appco Group US along with their bravest fundraisers have signed up to abseil down a 32-storey high building in New York city all in the name of charity.

Appco Group US Chief Operating Officer Sarah Cauchi, Vice President Michael Scully and Country Head Will Lyon will climb down Pennsylvania Plaza for the American Cancer Society (ACS) on Saturday, June 23, 2012.

ACS is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has 12 chartered Divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide, and a presence in more than 5,100 communities.

‘This will be a great opportunity for the team at Appco to show our support for what is such a worthwhile cause and one that affects so many lives today,” said Sarah Cauchi. “Cancer can affect everyone, not only the sufferers but also their family and friends – they are the people who we are going over the edge for.”

The Cobra Group Foundation, a charity foundation set up by the Cobra Group of Companies, Appco Group’s parent company, has pledged its support through a generous donation.  “What a fantastic charity to support,” said David Davison, Head of The Cobra Group Foundation. “Being able to support and donate to such a worthy cause and help them achieve so much more is at the core of what the foundation is about.”

Mr Scully said fundraising and supporting various projects around the world has always been close to Appco’s heart.

“In the US we have been working closely with a number of great organisations and that list is growing month by month and as a company we felt that we wanted to show our support not just by running great fundraising campaigns but also by getting involved in sponsored activities,” he said.

“Over the years I have raised money for the WWF and Quarriers by climbing mountains in the Himalayas, so the thought of spending time coming down the side of a building versus climbing up a mountain was very appealing – much less training involved.”

Mr Scully also thanked the Cobra Group Foundation for their generous support in getting the team prepared for the abseil.
